I have finally finished the long awaited Voodoo Hoodoo Spellbook...YEAH!!! I am taking preorders on it now because it comes with a limited edition CD that has 13 + classic folkloric and sacred texts from which much Voodoo hoodoo is based on. Secret sources of seals, talismans, formulas, spells, and everything you need to know to have an effective trickbag. It's been a lot of fun to write, but it has also been a lot of work.

It's been too long since I have made a voodoo video, and since I have quite a bit of new artwork to showcase, I thought I would create one real quick. Well, as usual, it is never a "real quick" kind of thing. But I did get one done and wanted to post here for all to see and enjoy.

Throughout history, people have been fascinated by the idea of conjuring up their own genie in a bottle who will grant their every wish. Can you imagine what the world would be like if everyone had their own spirit slave eager to do their every bidding? Needless to say, this type of magick should only be practiced by the experienced and responsible practitioner of the conjuring arts.
The exact methods and purposes for conjuring entities varies according to culture and magical tradition. In Islamic magic from whence the concept of genies emerged, for example, humans attempting to perform
black magic on other humans would pay a magician to call upon a dark Djinni specializing
in manipulative deeds to perform the magic. In New Orleans Voodoo, zombi spirits are summoned to grant wishes and protect the home. Zombi spirits are conjured up via a secret Voodoo hoodoo ritual known only by a select few and placed in a specially prepared bottle to create a ritual fetish. These zombi bottles are then placed by the front door of the home or on a mantle, where they function as house elementals who aggressively protect the home from evildoers. You can procure your own pricey zombi bottle from PlanetZombi.com.
One of the most well-known books outlining the way to summon up spirit entities is the Necronomicon Spellbook by Simon. Reportedly translated from a Greek manuscript, the supposed Sumerian grimoire attempts to identify the Great Old Ones and other creatures from Lovecraft's Mythos with gods and demons from the Sumerian myths. Using ancient Sumerian seals and the fifty names of Marduk, 50 different entities can be summoned for a whole slew of reasons.
No doubt, the Necronomicon Spellbook is a controversial piece of literary history . While it is believed by some to be an ancient sacred text that has been corrupted over time, it is purported by others to be nothing more than a modern day hoax. Is it real? Is it fake? How can one tell?
In order for a text to be authenticated, there would need to be a proven chain of ownership and reference to it in other historic texts, among other things. Ideally, the original manuscript would be available for scholars to examine and analyze. Since no such manuscript of the Necronomicon Spellbook has ever turned up, it should be considered fictional.
That said, the Necronomicon Spellbook is a guide to magick, with many incantations, seals, and rituals for summoning up ancient Sumerian Spirits. Whatever its origins, it is believed by many practitioners of magick to be a workable magick system capable of enhancing one's relationship with the Divine.
Another contemporary reference guide to creating magickal entities is available on the PlanetVoodoo.tv forum.
